On your first attempt, climb set problems in the way that is most natural to you. On the next attempt identify a different approach or sequence that will challenge you in a way that might address known weaknesses in your climbing repertoire, for example trying the problem footless (avoid this on slabs as it may well end in pain).
Try variations until you exhaust the possibilities.
